Enrichment Programs

Each year Garden City offers a variety of enrichment programs for students including music, swimming, gymnastics, ice skating, taekwondo and more.

Kids 4 Kids: Children’s Outreach Programs,

Elementary students at Garden City create fundraising projects to support needs they see in our local and international community. During the 2009-2010 school year, the children created art works and baked items to sell. They raised funds to make a contribution to aid in Haiti and to help a fellow class member whose younger sister had extreme medical expenses.

Fine Arts

Garden City offers a comprehensive arts curriculum exploring the visual and musical arts. Our Visual Art Program introduces children to each of the elements of design. Singing and listening to music are part of our daily experience, and weekly visits from Matthew Nord (Tangled Tones Music Studio) combine to offer a rich arts environment.

Physical Education

Throughout the school year, the children at Garden City are involved in a variety of Physical Education activities. These include morning movement circles, yoga practice, swimming classes at the YMCA and regularly scheduled outdoor PE sessions.

Junior Naturalist Program

This program offers children opportunities to study the natural sciences both in the classroom and outdoors. Through hiking, gardening, exploration, and data collection, the children gain knowledge first hand while finding an appreciation for nature, healthy living, and care for the environment.

This program also offers children opportunities to study the natural sciences both in the traditional classroom and in our new “Green Classroom”, a full scale flower and vegetable garden created by Garden City families. In addition, our science units include exploration of our natural world through hiking, observation and data collection in our local parks and wilderness areas. In this way the children gain knowledge first hand while finding an appreciation for nature, healthy living and care for the environment.

After School Discovery Program

Our after school program gives children a chance to relax and enjoy their friends after school. During this time the children play, sing, dance and create crafts together. Facilitators offer regular discovery themes, giving them opportunities to dig deeper into projects which interest them.

Summer Arts and Adventure Program

This annual program offers children in-depth experiences in the fine arts, natural sciences, swimming, and adventures in Montana’s great outdoors. Sessions begin at the close of school each June and typically run for six weeks. Full and weekly enrollment are available.

Parent and Family Nights

Each year Garden City Parents and Families are invited to Montessori Math and Montessori Language Nights, Open Houses, Family Clay or Craft Nights, and Pajama Nights (Parents’ Night Out).
